Lubricants and Grease Portfolio Re-Image

At Shell, we are constantly seeking to improve our products and services to customers. To underline our commitment to leadership and innovation in the lubricants business, we will be making changes to our lubricants ranges in response to requests from our customers: “Make it easier and simpler for me to choose the right lubricants for my operations.”

Lubricants Portfolio Re-Image

Lubricants

In November 2010, we have created new structures and portfolios for our leading industrial oils, greases and automotive-transmission lubricants. We have developed simplified, yet comprehensive ranges built around the value generated by our latest technology and synthetic lubricants, and that are designed to meet your needs. The new portfolios feature less-complex and more-logical product naming systems to help make selecting the right lubricant easier. The systems follow the portfolio principles already successfully rolled out and well received worldwide for our leading heavy-duty and automotive ranges. We shall also take this opportunity to unify our pail volume to 20L global standard.

We are launching our new industrial lubricants and transmission fluids portfolios from 15 December 2010 (However several imported grades will not be effective until mid 2011, please refer to the following files for details). We are anticipating the old/new product phase out/in period will commence in mid November 2010 and may continue for several months. During this period you may receive old/new products as determined by our stock levels. Our customer service officers will contact you to facilitate the ordering confirmation details or you may confirm the details directly though Shell e-Serve.

Please read the following files for gaining more understandings on our improved portfolio. Your account manager will be pleased to discuss how the new portfolios could benefit your operations, and to provide charts with the old and new product names, plus new technical datasheets to help ensure a smooth transition.

Should you have any concerns, please contact your account manager or our customer care centre at +852 2323 1000.

Grease Portfolio Re-Image

Grease Portfolio Improvement

At Shell, we are constantly seeking to improve our products and services to customers. To underline our commitment to leadership and innovation in the lubricants business, we will now re-image our grease portfolio in line with the changes in the lubricants portfolio earlier.

Our new grease portfolio is being consolidated to one new grease brand – Shell Gadus with a new logical tiered naming system which will make it easier for you to select the right grease for different applications. The new naming system will clearly indicate the relative tier/performance level, thickener type, oil viscosity, special conditions or application and the NLGI grade. We have also standardized the colours of our grease grades and you may experience changes in the colours of some grease products.

The new portfolio will be introduced in a phased manner around the world. You are requested to keep on ordering as usual with our current product names; however, starting in May 2011, you will either receive the existing or the recommended replacement product against your orders. We will notify you whenever your order is changed to a Gadus product.
