Winner of Shell FuelSave Challenge achieved 26% of fuel saving

Shell FuelSave Challenge had received overwhelming response from 67 drivers. The most fuel efficient driver achieved 26% of fuel saving as compared to pre-challenge period.
Shell has always been committed to meeting the world’s growing energy needs in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible way.
In 2014, Shell commissioned Shell FuelSave Challenge (“The Challenge”), where Shell partnered with Green Power to host The Challenge for its business partners and Shell Card holders. The Challenge aimed at promoting higher fuel efficiency and better driving habits among commercial fleet drivers, and had received overwhelming response from 9 participating companies and 67 drivers.
The Challenge invited drivers to attend a half-day seminar by Hong Kong School of Motoring, where professional trainers shared practical knowledge on eco-driving, defensive driving and greener driving habits for all participants. The participants were then being tracked their fuel efficiency via keeping odometer reading and fuel consumption record in the Shell Card system throughout the competition period.
The result of the Shell FuelSave Challenge was very encouraging, the most fuel efficient driver achieved 26% of fuel saving as compared to pre-challenge period. All winners and participating companies were invited to attend the Shell Card FuelSave Challenge Award Ceremony, held at Conrad Hong Kong on 13 March 2015. The event did not only show recognition to all the participants, but also invited representatives from Business Environment Council and Kum Shing Group to be the keynote speakers. Both speakers shared their valuable insights on green management and waste reduction, and encouraged companies to incorporate green practices into their daily work flow.
