Mrs. Regina Leung said in her speech: “After years of effort and with great support from schools and all stakeholders, we have made remarkable achievements in promoting social inclusion. The government promotes the concept of social inclusion via all possible channels, leading to a harmonious society full of love and care. Apart from efforts from the government, we also need support from all walks of life to build an inclusive society in an all-round way. The Shell/Island JC Scholarship for the Disabled Students represents a very good example. I hope that all students present here will keep working hard to give full play to your potential. Meanwhile, I wish that all attendees will continuously spread the spirit of social inclusion and of working together for a more harmonious Hong Kong.”
Mr. Daniel Ng said: “As a socially responsible corporate entity, Shell Hong Kong has always been committed to promoting social inclusion and equal participation, contributing to build up a more harmonious society. We try our very best to help SEN students release their potential and become fully integrated into our society. This is exactly what has motivated us to sponsor this scholarship programme for more than 30 years.
“Each SEN student who works hard to succeed deserves our respect and recognition. They not only strive to break through barriers but also have a kind heart to care for people in need. I am very proud of you and expect you to continue to contribute to our society each in your own way”, he added.
During the award ceremony, winners placed leaf-shaped stickers on the tree branches of a creative photo-taking backdrop, indicating that they live a wonderful life just like the leaves of the tree towards the goal of, “We, together, brighten up the future with love & care”.
