Shell Joins Hands with Diamond Cab

(Hong Kong — 6 March 2017) A barrier-free environment and culture is not only important to the advancement of society, but also to creating a harmonious and inclusive community which helps promote equal opportunities and social participation for disabled persons and caregivers. Helping foster a barrier-free society, “Diamond Cab Sponsorship” has been launched as one of the Shell Bonus Card rebate selections. For every designated spend, customers can choose the Elderly Services Association of Hong Kong (“the Association”) as their sponsorship recipient. Elderly people in the Association will be the beneficiaries who are subsidised to use Diamond Cab’s taxi services.

From now on, in addition to the existing wide range of rebate selections, Shell Bonus Card customers can choose to sponsor HK$50 in Diamond Cab rides for every accumulated HK$1,500 they spend at Shell Stations. Members of the Elderly Services Association of Hong Kong will benefit from the HK$50 Diamond Cab Sponsorship as it facilitates their use of Diamond Cab’s safe and convenient taxi services. As it continues its commitment to meet the growing demand for energy, Shell also gives back to the community by extending happy vibes and positive energy of a different sort. Through various initiatives including this sponsorship programme, the company fulfils its corporate social responsibilities whilst building a sustainable future. The collaboration between Shell and Diamond Cab once again shows Shell’s determination to bring a positive impact to society.

Since its establishment in 2011, Diamond Cab has offered point-to-point barrier-free transportation services for wheelchair users. Up to now, Diamond Cab has accomplished nearly 120,000 trips for the wheelchair users.
