Shell Hong Kong brings Easter joy to communities in volunteer partnership with Agent of Change and Pei Ho Counterparts
Apr 18, 2017
(Hong Kong, 16 April 2017) Demonstrating that it can power charitable spirit as well as vehicles, Shell Hong Kong has recently worked with local social enterprise Agent of Change for “Fuelling Up The Community” initiative. Customers and members of the public were encouraged to participate by making donations to fund Agent of Change gift packs at select Shell Hong Kong petrol stations. The initiative raised enough after four months to purchase nearly 400 bottles of cooking oil and 1,500 bags of rice.
To help deliver the gift packs, volunteers from Shell Hong Kong and Agent of Change partnered with Pei Ho Counterparts and “Ming Gor” (Chan Cheuk Ming), the philanthropist restaurant owner who has been helping the underprivileged with free meals. The volunteer team went to Sham Shui Po on April 15 and delivered lunch boxes and foodstuffs along with Easter joy to the homeless and the elderly.
