(21 March 2018, Hong Kong) - Shell Hong Kong Limited (“Shell”) has achieved a new milestone along its journey of sustainability with the Grand Opening Ceremony of the new Siu Lam station.

Ms. Rebecca Chan, Vice President – Retail of Shell China, said in the ceremony, “Shell is committed to driving sustainable development and helping to bring it to life in our daily operation. We always operate our Retail business with innovative and socially responsible ways, hoping to contribute to a sustainable society. The opening of Shell Siu Lam Station, which is designed with a series of sustainability elements, is one of the many evidences that show our determination to further promote and practice sustainable development.”

Shell Siu Lam Station features various innovative facilities which contribute to sustainable development, such as a green wall, a pavement built with blocks utilising recycling materials, and a self-served water machine. Shell as a pioneer has installed a 12-square-metre green wall at its Siu Lam Station to make the environment greener as well as help reduce carbon emission. Siu Lam Station is also Shell’s first station to have a pavement for the convenience of the customers and pedestrians. To uphold the principle of sustainable development, the pavement is built with blocks utilising recycling materials. Customers and the public are also welcome to use the self-served water machine set up at the station with their own bottles or cups.

In addition, the brand-new Shell Siu Lam Station is designed with the “GO WELL” mission to give drivers a refreshing driving experience, including a new concept Shell Select convenience store, an oil change service centre with comfortable waiting room, and an electronic air balancer. The station is also creatively erected with a large and eye-catching SHELL logo lightbox, which is going to become a hot location check-in point to woo fellow drivers.
